Kilimanjaro for Kids is a project focused on giving back to the community through a unique experience that will be imprinted in your memory bank forever. Climbing mountains (I mean actually climbing them) to raise funds for less fortunate kids is the focal point of this exercise. We will take a group of extreme sports and music industry professionals up Kilimanjaro for a worthwhile cause. Each participant has an exclusive sponsor, for each step up the mountain the participant sponsor pledges a sum donated to their selected organisation for whom we create awareness, attempt to raise funds and push for the purpose of global change.

We believe that if there is to be a change in the world today that we need to preserve it for those that take over tomorrow and guide them in how to do it better. Music industry, extreme sports professionals, adventurers, corporates, film industry, media, press and the likes, from all over the world, will team together to make a difference and make this world a better place. With the help of sponsors and an amazing crew this project will change the lives of so many people. Our goal is to raise a million, the more the better; we don’t feel the need to cap it. Statistics show that 35 out of 50 people will summit Kilimanjaro. All of us will climb with the purpose of climbing mountains for others. The organisation that Inrichmint selected to work with is the international SOS Children’s Villages. The funds that will be raised and donated will go to this organisation along with those of the individual participants. Fundraising numbers will need to be provided by each applicant in order to participate. all organisations are globally involved directly or indirectly with aiding, educating, nursing and helping children around the world!

Inrichmint is hosts an annual benefit, started in 2009, to create awareness around the initiative and raise cash donated to SOS Children’s Village (and other organisations) at the end of each year. The end of 2009 granted the opportunity to donate a double bunk bed and a small amount of cash to the Cape Town village. In 2010 Inrichmint collaborated with various artists  and producers from around the world to put together charity albums in various electronic music genres. All profits from these albums go to support K4K & SOS Children’s Villages. The first album out was Real House Antix, released by Inrichmint Recordings early in 2010 was mixed by Christopher & Lu Chase who produced the single from the album, Still Driving. The album also included tracks by Timo Garcia & Amber Jolene remixed by Shifter and Carvel, Victor Simonelli and others. The second album, Tech Affair, also mixed by Christopher Wilde and featuring  focused on awareness and fund raising for the cause is due for release early in 2011 with the aim of continued releases throughout the year and those to follow. Inrichmint and other independent promoters host nightlife and clubbing events to raise funds and awareness for this initiative. Already supporting K4K are Paul Kwitek from Existence Music, Peter Gabriel and his technical team, Steep Slopes Media, IMPI in South Africa and Colour Vision amongst many producing artists, professionals, businesses and volunteers.

As we get closer to the time training will be implemented, we have a motivational and nutritional couch who is developing the ‘metal preparation’ training program. We will be constructing individual eating and exercise programs for all the participants. You do not need to be a participant climbing Kilimanjaro or a sponsor in order to get involved. Our events, public relations, marketing, funding and organising all depends on volunteers of time and skills. We are always in need of more exposure, sponsors and volunteers, the date to climb Kilimanjaro has not been set and participant spaces are still available. The mountain is almost 7500 feet high and the tallest free standing mountain in the world. Porters, guides and experienced tour operators work with Inrichmint to ensure that all safety precautions are met and that participants are looked after in the best possible way. A list of climbing gear and requirements is provided for each of the participants and the cost of the trip is excluding these needs. Climbing gear, visas and the necessary requirements for each individual is the responsibility of the participant and the sponsor. Inrichmint will team up with various film companies, professionals and a production team to document the journey.
